Manufacturing, distribution, construction, exporting, and the automotive industry have long been considered the fabric of America. With all of these sectors suffering greatly in recent times, the impetus for innovation abounds. The next Thomas Edison was probably downsized within the past two years!
Regardless of how you feel about the election results, there are indicators that it’s not all doom and gloom for the coming year. The most interesting and exciting news, I think, is that we have recently been hearing promising statements from accountants across the land. With most of the AccountingWEB audience being CPAs and accountants at small public accounting firms, it’s been encouraging to hear that their heart-and-soul accounts are building up a bit of steam. As you know, for many of these small accounting shops, a fair chunk of the business client base is either in, or heavily tied to, the fabric of America. Doesn’t every small public accounting firm have a tool-and-die shop for a client?
With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, perhaps we all can give thanks for better times that are right around the corner.
