Editor's Note
This past weekend, many churches took a stand on the fall
election process, encouraging parishioners to vote for
particular candidates. It seems that some churches are always
in the news for taking political stands, so why was this past
weekend any different from any other time?
What do you think? Should churches keep politics out of
religion, or should they encourage their members to seek
religious inspiration for political decisions? And should the
IRS be involved? Weigh in by posting your comments at the
bottom of this week's lead article.

Private Equity: History, Governance, and Operations
by Harry Cendrowski, James P. Martin, Louis W. Petro, Adam A. Wadecki
Soaring from the depths of its all-time low in the late 1970s, private equity (PE) investment is now a staple of the world economy. Although once demeaned by outsiders, private equity has now earned its place in the investment community as an asset class that generates wealth for both investors and the employees of companies it reshapes. Written by an investment dream team of authors, this book skillfully describes the mechanisms by which private equity achieves these goals.
