Last Friday I answered a reader's question who was having second thoughts about turning down an internship with a Big 4 firm. The reader response has been what you might expect - plenty of loud disapproval and some practical encouragement. It's pretty easy (and sometimes fun, frankly) to judge someone's choices but it's not like this person's life is over. In fact, the possibility that the young buckaroo will love their internship with their mid-tier firm is probably better than not and they'll say they wouldn't trade it for anything. Well, maybe they'd trade it for some time abroad or a million dollars or canoodling with the celebrity of their choice but we are talking about an internship...with an accounting firm.
